The Indianapolis Museum of Art at Newfields is an encyclopedic art museum with a permanent collection of over 55,000 works. Significant areas of the collection include Neo-Impressionist paintings, Japanese paintings of the Edo period, Chinese ceramics and bronzes, and a growing contemporary art collection. Serving the Indianapolis area since 1883, the museum hosts a variety of public programs and features an expansive horticultural campus.
