This sketch is captioned with two lines from Shakespeare's "Love's Labour's Lost:" Wellcome the Sour Cup of prosperity.- Affliction may one day smile again. This identifies the scene as the final moments of Act I, Scene 1, in which constable Dull and the cynical courtier Berowne march the clownish Costard off stage.
