This lively watercolor was probably a product of one of the artist's many sketching trips to Big Bend National Park. Dozier - one of the "Dallas Nine" - spent much of his life exploring the Texas landscape. In this painting, he has captured the vastness of the Texas landscape in as simple, freely painted sketch.
