Diego Rivera

Tannahill was a trustee of the Detroit Institute of Art's Founders Society, and served on the Detroit Arts Commission. He was a supporter of Diego Rivera, a mural painter, during a controversy surrounding Rivera's "Age of Steel" frescoes on exhibit in the Detroit Institute of Arts in which the Detroit City Council had been petitioned to remove it.
