Neil G. Welliver

In the mid-1960s Welliver began painting large scale landscapes featuring female nudes inspired by the Maine landscape. He switched to pure landscape in the mid-1970s; these works are noted for their strong shadows, clarity, dappled light, and compositional structure (ULAN).
