Alfred Leslie
Painter, editor; New York, N.Y. Painted in a style he called "confrontational art" which involves a direct realism intended to grab the viewer's attention and deliver a message almost didactic and persuasive in its tone. He often focused on the individual portrait and was a great admirer of David, Caravaggio, and Rubens. He was the editor of the avant-garde literary review THE HASTY PAPERS.
